Brake Press Setter Operator

Our Birmingham based client is currently looking for a Brake Press Setter Operator. They are a machining and fabrication specialist who pride themselves on quality and precision engineering.
Due to expansion and new machinery a great opportunity has became available for an experienced confident Brake Press Setter Operator to join their workforce.
The Brake Press Setter Operator role requires a candidate who has confidence in their ability alongside proven longevity in this field of work, Brake Press setting and operating within the automotive industry would be a huge advantage.
Responsibilities:
– Set up and configure brake press machines according to job specifications and blueprints.
– Adjusting the machine’s settings such as speed, angle, and pressure
– Ability to handle raw material safely and efficiently. Ensuring that materials are positioned correctly to achieve accurate bends and shapes.
– Confidence operating the brake press machine to bend, shape or cut raw materials according to provided blueprints and instructions.
– Monitoring machines during their operation to detect any issues or deviations from the planned process.
– Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications, make adjustments if and when required to correct any defects or discrepancies.
– Perform routine maintenance tasks on the brake press machinery, such as cleaning, lubrication and replacing worn parts. Report any mechanical issues or malfunctions.
Requirements:
– Previous proven experience operating brake press machinery in a manufacturing environment, automotive would be an advantage.
– Proficiency in reading drawings and blueprints understanding geometric dimensions and tolerances. Knowledge of machine setup, tooling and programming.
– Experience and knowledge of handling raw materials.
– Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and correct quality issues during the manufacturing process.
– Ability to programme, create tools and recognise tools due to experience.
– Confidence to work independently using initiative and knowledge.
– Commitment to following health and safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and others.

The working hours for the successful Brake Press Setter Operator are:
Monday to Thursday 07:00am – 16:00pm and an early finish on a Friday 07:00am – 12:00pm
The rate of pay for the Brake Press Setter Operator is dependant on experience varying from £16.00 per hour to £18.00 per hour, this will be discussed during interview process and based upon a short working trial.
