Job Description
We are currently seeking cleaners with a valid UK driving licence to work with our client in Edinburgh Airport. This is a full-time permanent position with a starting pay rate of £11.79 per hour for the first six months, with a further 1.5% increase going forward.
As a cleaner, your duties will include aircraft cleaning, which involves tasks such as removing blankets, vacuuming aircraft, wiping down tray tables, walls, and overhead lockers, as well as removing rubbish from seat pockets. You will also be responsible for cleaning aircraft toilets, wash basins, surfaces, mirrors, and replenishing supplies. Additionally, you will be required to clean and sanitize aircraft galleys, mop floors, and wipe down surfaces. Other responsibilities include arranging seatbelts on seats, placement of headrests, pillows, and blankets as required, and cleaning the exterior of the aircraft when necessary.
In addition to aircraft cleaning, you will also provide professional cleaning services to offices and retail areas within the airport. You will be required to drive and operate Ground Support Vehicles, which may include vans, hi-lift, steps, and toilet and water vehicles. Therefore, a valid UK driving licence is a requirement for this role.
To be successful in this position, you should be self-confident and able to stay calm under pressure. You should also be organized and able to manage your time effectively. Physical fitness is important as lifting up to 32kg may be required. Fluency in English and basic to intermediate computer skills are also necessary.
We offer free car parking and provide a uniform and personal protective equipment (PPE). You will have the opportunity to work with a variety of customers and aircraft types, ranging from Embraer’s to Boeing 777-300er.
