Job Description
Role Purpose
To support The Council’s Housing in providing throughout the London Borough of Hackney and other locations as directed, a high quality cyclical, planned and reactive repairs and maintenance service to internal and external elements of occupied and unoccupied properties, public buildings and associated external areas. Provide outstanding customer service and excellent standards of performance to the public and residents of Hackney.
Responsibilities
- Electrical installation work to BS7671 and any future changes which updates or replaces this legislation and/or current electrical standards.
- Full or part rewire properties and landlord circuits using various types of cable, PVC and steel trunking & conduits.
- Electrical inspection, testing and verification work including periodic mandatory inspections. Report all findings to supervisor and complete any pro-forma certification or paperwork, e.g. NICEIC.
- Rectifying faults raised through periodic inspections.
- Installation of smoke/heat alarms
- Fault find and repair to existing electrical circuits, fittings and accessories.
- Installation of fittings and accessories such as fuse boards, light pendants/switches, power sockets, cooker panels, fans, time switches, central heating controls, luminaires & lamps, lighting columns and the like.
Requirements
- Hold a clean full UK Drivers Licence.
- City and Guilds Level 3 in Electrotechnical Technology Installation or relevant experience.
- City & Guilds 2382 Level 3, 17th Edition Electrical Installation
- City & Guilds 2391 Level 3
- Experience working in housing associations or councils
Contract
- Initial 6 month ongoing contract with the opportunity to extend
- Monday to Friday 9am to 4pm
- PAYE via Umbrella
