Job Description
Are you passionate about working with animals and interested in the field of hatchery operations? We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Hatchery Operative to join our client’s team on the outskirts of Boston. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy hands-on work, have a keen eye for detail, and are committed to ensuring the highest standards in animal care.
What will my duties be?
- Carry out daily tasks related to the operation and maintenance of the hatchery facility.
- Perform routine cleaning and sanitization of equipment, facilities, and work areas.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, biosecurity protocols, and animal welfare standards.
- Collaborate with the team to achieve production targets and meet quality standards.
- Document and record data accurately for inventory management and quality control purposes.
- Identify and report any issues or abnormalities related to the hatchery operations promptly.
- Assist in other duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.
What skills and experience do I need?
- Previous experience in a similar role or working with poultry would be advantageous but not essential as full training will be provided.
- A strong work ethic with a proactive and flexible approach.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Good physical stamina and the ability to perform tasks that involve manual handling.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
- Knowledge of health and safety practices and the ability to follow protocols.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
- MUST NOT have any contact with any Avian Species
- *Please note due to site location having your own form of transport would be preferred*
What hours of work will I be doing?
We have several shifts available.
- Monday to Friday, 8am to 4:30pm
- Monday to Friday, 3am to 11am
How much will I earn?
£10.92 per hour. £14.56 per hour overtime after 40 hours.
